Joanns has 'fat quarters' which are pieces of fabric (18" x 24" I think) typically used for quilting. They come in many different prints and are pretty cheap.

they're $1.49 each, unless they're on sale, sometimes you can get them for $1

This probably doesn't help you but this summer when I was working at Joann we had a 90% sale on fabric scraps & some ladys went apeshit & bought like 40 at a time & I pretty much wanted to kill them cause you have to type in the mesurement & barcode# & then the discount all by hand. Oi.

Every fabric store I've ever been in sold "scrap" fabric for a significant discount. If you don't see it right away, ask an employee where the remnants bin is. :)

JoAnn's always have remnants that are discounted like 50% or more, and if you go to the apolstery (sp) section they have tons more...
