I've been wanting to try silk-screening for awhile now, but have been put-off by the cost and potential difficulty. This tutorial makes it so CHEAP and SIMPLE that I can't wait to try it. THANK YOU! :-)

material question
if u use a gridded material will it leave a gridded design or tic tac toe design in your finished product or pixelated design or will the ink fill in and be solid

How much did the materials you used including the shirt cost? If you don't know can you give me an estimate please?

I hope this hasn't already been asked; I couldn't read through all 19 pages (!) of comments.

Is there a trick to painting the mod podge so neatly around small areas? Your text is so crisp! I'm thinking mine would be really messy around the edges; is that just a matter of skill, or are there tricks that can help?

Thank you so much for posting this!

I love this idea! I always wanted to take the screen printing class in college but never got to. This seems like a really fun idea and will be useful in some of my crafts. Thanks for sharing!

Don't know if you're still replying to this or not but--Can you use pantyhose fabric instead of tulle? Seems like it would be a finer mesh, but I guess it's possible that paint wouldn't get through.

screen printing
I recently did this with my daughter. However as a first try I used elmers glue instead of mod podge. Not so great. What I wanted to know is how do you or what do you clean your screen with after if you want to use it again and again?

Thanks for your help.

Re: screen printing
You can try xer205 ready to use to clean the emulsion, and plastiwash to clean the ink. If you need this feel free to call me at 718-441-4320 as our ebay store only sells by the gallon and we do sell quarts size.
