Soap!

Soap This soap I made from an organic glycerin base, lemon and lime extracts; that I got from organic lemons & limes, and green tea (both stocked and pure leaves). All those ingredients are supposed to be good for your skin; and as far as I can tell, they are! I've been using it, and I really like it. I'm thinking about selling it on Etsy, since I made a whole bunch, and I've given it away to family and friends with quite a lot still left over. I like making soap, and I'm thinking of an all out citrus batch, so I don't need it just sitting around still. This is supposed to say "calming" but I think I put it upside down when I took the pic...

Needlepoint Cat

First of all I want to say thank you for all of your kind comments about my embroidered garden, it really made my week :)  I thought that you'd might like to see this - a needlepoint cat that I made last year for the village show and won best in show with him too!  I had initially wanted to make a fully jointed needlepoint teddy bear and made him as a trial run.  He is ten inches tall and would probably make a good door stop.

I used all the colours that I loved and fell in love with the DMC Rayon range which have such amazing tones (of course they have now discontinued it now).  I also used the DMC Light Effects threads and Anchor soft cotton as well as the usual stranded cotton and pearle.  I wanted to use as many different patterns as possible and with needlepoint you can change the entire look of a stitch by adding a different colour or similar shade.

A pair of socks, and a SPIDERMAN question

Hullo lovelies! So, first off, the shiny finished object - I've just done another pair of socks. They are wonderfully comfy and warm and colorful. Knit in Regia Design Line, from the Gentlemen's Half Hose pattern in Knitting Vintage Socks. Modified slightly for a shorter leg.

It is a pretty cool print, but I have no idea what to do with it. Any suggestions? I've seen people do great dresses out of this sort of thing, but I don't think it would be flattering on me as a dress. Maybe some other garment? Have any of you done something like this? My new sewing machine should be showing up in a couple days and I am super-excited, so I want to have a plan all ready when it gets here! Any thoughts appreciated. :D
