what's the best paint to use when painting those orangish outdoor flower pots?

I've painted some with regular acrylic paint, but it has a tendency to bubble up when you actually put plants in the pot and water them. However, sometimes, that's a neat effect.

I got some stuff for terra cotta called Patio Paint at the craft store that was designed especially for painting on those pots. It comes in those little 2 oz plastic bottles with the flip top lid. Sure took a lot of paint to cover them, they just soaked up coat after coat before I got the things to look the cream color that I was going for. But they are wearing fine outside, so the water and weather don't seem to damage them.

Use a primer so the paint doesn't bubble or peel off if you plan on using it to actually hold a plant, and use plain acrylic paints.
