Mmm, fun with food!

My mum and I finally got ourselves a nice new cutlery set... And what better way is there to break it in than some crafy cutting?

I present to you my first apple bird. (Yeah, I know... I had never made one before this. And I'm even in a catering class!)

 






And a kiwi for good measure. <3

that looks really nice! if you sprinkle some lemon juice on it to keep it from browning, it would be a really cute garnish for dishes.

That is too cool! Reminds me of Yan Can Cook... Yan did a tour and was at the local mall just *years* ago...My sis and I were still very young. He made her an apple swan and it was in our fridge for ages... They're just cool looking!

hehe when you said a kiwi for good measure i was expecting the bird... in NZ here we call 'kiwis' kiwifruit to distinguish. It always freaks me out when i hear americans talk of eating a kiwi... being that they're our national endangered bird and all..

Look up "apple bird" on google and you can find all sorts of tutorials, I think.

I bet you can find a site on google if you search for "apple bird". My mum was telling me about this book called something like Play With Your Food that has all sorts of cool things like this...

Hee, and it tastes like a lemon apple when you eat it since I sprinkled it in lemon juice to keep it from browning.
