My seven year old nephew has enlisted my help to decorate his new bedroom into a rainforest. I have a few ideas in mind, but I can't seem to get further than basic stencils and decoupage ideas. Unfortunately, I'm no artist so hand painting a mural is out of the question.
I'm open to any and all suggestions because we're both game for going crazy on this project. The more rainforest-y, the better.
I'd like to bring in fallen branches and utilize them somehow. I'm also thinking about blowing up photographs of the sky to make posters that would hang on the ceiling with some fake vines attached to give that canopy feel.
Any DIY ideas, links, etc. would be so appreciated. All I need is a kick of inspiration and some tips and I think I'll be off and running. Thanks in advance.

To simplify the collage and make it less daunting you can start with the largest pictures first. Or even use whole pages instead of cutting them up.
If you use the largest cutout pictures idea then you cut out a bunch of pictures. Paint or use a colored background (jungle green for instance or even pictures of leaves) Sort by size small, medium, and large. Glue the largest ones down first. Say you have 5 large. Glue one in the middle and one toward each corner. Then fill in the spaces a bit with the medium ones, next the small ones go over the remaining spaces.
If you go with the whole pages, then simply cover the board with the pages edge to edge. Go back and glue cut out leaves or maybe silk leaves from your vines over any words or ads just to cover them up.
Good luck! It sounds like a lot of fun.
