I'm Santa!

12:33 am - 12/24/2005
First time poster, long time lurker... :-) I love seeing what y'all do. :-)

I made some Santa outfits for me & a girlfriend for SF Santacon. We spent about 20 hours from start to finish on the two of them.

Blue_Santa My girlfriend drew a picture of what she wanted and I patterned it and sewed it up. She's half Jewish and wanted her Santa outfit to reflect this. Hence, the blue fur. You can't see it in my lousy picture, but the fur has silver sparklies in it. We made a great team: She did the cutting and the hand-work, I did the patterning, sewing and fitting.
Red_Santa My santa suit. The fabric is a short fur with a directional pattern. I love the jacket so much that I've been wearing it all week long! Again, I patterned it. The bottom front looks funny in the picture, but it looks great IRL.
Red_Santa_Hoodie A better picture of the hoodie part of the jacket. That's not coffee I'm drinking! Tee hee hee...

I have a friend who lives in a tiny little town in No. California and I always tease her and tell her that she should have her own SantaCon by herself. She always replies that it's difficult to arrest 300 Santas for Drunk & Disorderly conduct, but it would be really easy to arrest just her!

Zombie takeover? That's new to me... Where do I sign up? ;-)

There were a lot of people who came in from out of town...

the same group(s) that do the santa thing do it around halloween with zombies shuffling about. i didn't attend but a couple of my friends went. it was a hoot to see on the news. some people went as jsut "paparrazzi" or wore "victim" tags etc to let the undead know they were "safe" to maul.

didn't hear about any of the santarchy things this year though here in seattle so can't report on that.

and you did a superb job on the outfits.

there was lots of zombie activity in portland this year too. And i heard there was a santacon up in seattle too. Maybe it was smaller this year. Where do you guys congregate normally? downtown or pike place or something.
angelwifey 25th-Dec-2005 06:28 am (UTC)
well yeah you can travel into town, but the closest santacon i could find is 14hr drive;) i love the idea but not THAT much:)
zombie takeovers happen all the time in portland oregon. Not just round halloween. ITs just like santacon, but dressed up as zombies. Im a zombie fanatic so i cant wait to move back and do all this stuff:);)

I tend to agree, on both counts ^_^ But Brian is a close second!! I love Family Guy so much because it just has the most jokes/references that are relevant to the things I like -- like all the Star Wars and Indiana Jones spoofs, and everything!! I just can't extoll it's virtues enough, but man I do love it!! And this comes from a big cartoon fan too... :-)
angelwifey 26th-Dec-2005 06:19 am (UTC)
i agree. He's always witty and saving olives from his martini's for lois. Thats funny!
I own all the DVD's including the movie. I just played the family guy drinking game on xmas eve. pretty cool. The indiana spoofs in season four are hilarious. SO many of them. "lady just here cause she humping director!"
Im a king of the hill, simpsons, futurerama, so manyothers. drawing a blank. family guy is my fav by far!

It was so much fun! The "Hoodie" picture is from the Santa Rampage... Out in the rain, drinking Irish Coffee from a to-go coffee cup. ;-)
midsummermuse 26th-Dec-2005 04:38 am (UTC)
Oh my god. I love irish coffee so so so so so so much. Especially with Jameson. Mmmmmm. I want some now. No---maybe I want a few ;-) Nice job on the jacket! Sweet and furry. ^_^

This was the first year that I participated in the Santa Rampage... and I'm HOOKED! It was so much fun... I totally encourage you to get Santa'd Up next year. :-)

If you were closer, I'd say, "Come on over & sew with me!"
