Record Photo Album

9:23 pm - 11/27/2005
I made this using a couple of the 78s i bought the other day. pages inside are just black cardstock, i cut them into circles...that took the most time! drilled a couple holes and tied it up with ribbon. i tried using a thick gauge of wire, but it wouldn't open and shut easily. it's an Xmas gift for my friend who is a musician and music lover :)

i used peel and stick photo corners and put a couple of my pics in there for reference. not sure if i'm gonna put the corners on every page or just give him the box to do himself.

I would give him the box, so that he can arrange different sizes of photos however he likes. Cool project!

aw mang, that is gnarly.
you dont think putting photo corners on is fun? i love little projects that are soooooo easy and look soo finished--instant gratification is my BFF!
i loooove your icon by the way.

Wow, what a fantastic idea!

Give them to your friend loose. That way he can add in his own things. Some may not even be photos. Ticket stubs, programs, matchbook covers, etc.

that is seriously an awesome book. but be careful though, 78s tend to get really really brittle with time. im impressed you managed holes in them without them turning to dust!
foto_phreak 28th-Nov-2005 09:33 pm (UTC)
yeah they're pretty tough, not sure how old they are. i broke another (on purpose) and it was pretty hard to do, so i think they'll last at least a few years...as long as he doesn't drop it onto concrete or sumthin =P
rhiannonrising 29th-Nov-2005 12:43 am (UTC)
wow youre lucky! ive had them fall apart in my hands. i forget what i even wanted them for!

this is very cool! nice work! i have seen people make little photo books out of cd's. you apply the pics onto the cd's and then you put them all together on a key ring... they're awesome!

idfuckramirez 24th-Dec-2005 12:42 am (UTC)
oh man, such a great idea! i've been trying to make one, but how on earth did you successfully cut that paper into equal circles? i'm so frustrated with this!
foto_phreak 24th-Dec-2005 02:36 am (UTC)
they're a lot less perfect than they look. i traced a plate onto every page and just used scissors
