wedding scrapbooks

1:14 pm - 01/19/2005
Alright, for my aunt's wedding I have been recruited to be the photographer. I am planning on putting together a scrapbook for her to give her when I am done with developing all of the photos and what not. I am curious to see if anyone in this wonderful community, has any ideas on what I can maybe put in this scrapbook, or if you have any advice that would be wonderful also. I hope this isn't against any rules, thanks for your help.

For mine I made it into a storybook..."Once upon a time there was a boy (pictures of DH as a kid and a recent picture) and a girl (same for me) and they lived here and were doing this and met and fell in love and got married" etc.

Something else you can do is interview friends/family members about how they knew this couple was serious, how they found out about the wedding, cute anecdotes about them...and then type or write up the stories and display them with the pictures.

i was the photog at my aunts wedding. I didn't make her a scrapbook, but I did make her an album with all the b&W photos together. I used book with black pages, and used silver photo-corners around all the pictures, and it turned out looking pretty sleek. I also had the photo place develop my B&W's with a white border around each. that looked very pretty.

That is a good ideas as well, to just compile all the photos, I love black and white photography, and Ive seen those books with black pages, that sounds like it must have looked very wonderful.

First, I'd think about what kind of book I want to put together. Do you want mostly traditional photography? The sleek black and white photojournalistic type photos? That will help you when you're actually shooting the wedding.

Second, look at some websites with various hints on shooting weddings. Here's a quick selection of things I've found since you've asked:
Tips for shooting a digital wedding.
The wedding channel's essentials for wedding photography- it's aimed at brides, but I think it'll help for you.
A list of "must have" wedding shots

Good luck. Just out of curiosity, what kind of camera are you using?

Make sure to get any cameras you're not familiar with before the wedding day. Someone asked me to take pictures of an event once and to use their camera and I didn't think to look at it first and figure out how to use it. I was lost for a long time! It might sound like obvious advice, but I wish someone had told me!

Good luck with the scrapbook. :)

yes I know, it always takes me a moment with digital cameras. Thanks for the good luck.

Oooh, I have an HP camera! Which one do you have?

Glad the links help. I always stress when I'm shooting a wedding, it just makes me so nervous. I want to get the best possible photos, because it's such an important day.

Some other cute ideas I've come across are "First Impressions" where the bride and groom each write about their first encounters...
Family trees...

I think there would be a few ideas on www.creativememories.com which is a scrapbooking company that I LOVE. I've bought tons of their scrapbooking supplies - it's a great spot!

I just finished a book of my wedding, and I found some great quotes about love and marriage from famous people to put on every page.
