I checked the FAQ, and I didn't see it there. I am making a small star-shaped soap bar, and I was just wondering if I could suspend that in a larger bar of soap. Would the melted soap around it melt the star as well? Also, I wanted to make a bar with just cinnamon as an additive/fragrance. Could I do that or would it turn out funky?

Yes, you can suspend your small star soap in a larger bar of soap. Just make sure that your small star soap is completely hardened before you do this.

I did this once with a heart in the middle of a large bar of white soap. I poured 1/3 of the white soap into the mold, then placed the heart in the middle, waited about 5 minutes, then poured the rest of the white soap in.

As for the cinnamon, I think that should work out fine! Just make sure you get a recipe of soap with good suspension (you don't want it all falling to the bottom!).

I hope this helps! I'm not an expert soap maker or anything, I've just done it a few times. Good luck!!

Just be careful, and don't add *too* much cinnamon--it *can* burn you. If you're thinking about using powdered or stick cinnamon, you should be somewhat safer than using a cinnamon oil.
Good luck!

I put this in the faq under "soap making".
