howdy-- first post

so hopefully this works... just whipped out my scanner i got for christmas ;p the pic wont be amazing, but hopefully it'll be easy enough to see...

so i started stenciling recently. i thought id share and maybe get some input since you guys obviously know what youre talkin about...



most recent stencil. the pic is of kris roe from the ataris, and the words say angry nerd rock. my problem is i never like how the text turns out when i do it... should i use a pre-made stencil, or try out a more curvy text w/ less straight lines so its easier to disguise mistakes? please just let me know what you think! thanks ;p

i think your letters look fine. personally, i'd stick with your own stencils because the fonts from premade stencils don't have that much of a selection and the ones there are, are like country fonts and there is nothing like your shirt.
i like it! a lot!

oh...i have a question haha.
on the stencil revolution website, it says to not have "islands" because then...it'd be hard. do you have islands?

yea islands are a pain. i just make sure i dont cut off the island, in otherwords, there is a thin line connecting two pieces together so i dont have to place a million little pieces down and worry about them moving and all that. then afterwards i paint in the marks that didnt get it because of the connecting piece. did that help?

i think the text looks mighty fine, and your islands too. what did you make the stencil out of and what medium is that? actually let me just say, "how did you do that?"

so heres how i did it, lol... well i just dont cut off all around the island so theres like a connector piece so they dont float around and stuff.... and what i cut to make the stencil is this thin plastic stuff that i get from my local dollar store. theyre like plastic envelopes that i just cut to the size i need to make the stencil. and the paint was acrylic. i didnt use any other medium mixed in, i think acrylic works just fine, doesnt wash out or anything. i did iron it after it dried though... hope i helped!

ah! kris! [i named my guitar after him...ehe] and angry nerd rock is a great song too. aand the text turned out great. actually, everything about that shirt is freakin' awesome.

post the stencil and i'll be your friend forever? ^_^

ah thank you! thats so great that you named a guitar after him. you'll have to give me a while to post the stencil pattern though i gotta find it and stuff. plus, its not amazing cuz i dont have photoshop.....

i also have another i did of kris, it was my first one, but its also my favorite. the second i get some spare time, ill post them both for you.... and uh---thanks for liking my shirt and for listening to awesome music! lol

an island would be, say, the hole in the g...if you imagine the black as the stencil sheet, and the white as the part you cut out...if you cut out the G, the hole in the g would come out too - do you see what I mean? So you'd have to go back and stick the circle piece on separately.
