proper glue

Hi, I need help with how to turn a book into a ... just kidding.

What's the best kind of glue/glue concoction for sticking paper together? I use a glue stick, but that doesn't work so well for shiny-sided paper. I go too gung ho with white glue, and that makes the paper wrinkle. I've tried rubber cement, but it doesn't seem to be very permanent. I love the adhesiveness of spray adhesive, but *wheeeeze*. Someone told me they use a white glue and water mixture, but I forgot the recipe. This is mostly for magazine clippings, regular paper, cardstock, other paper products for mailart and collages.

Speaking of mail art and collages, does anyone out there have any online galleries they can direct me to for inspiration?

Thanks for any help!

Awww, I missed you! I thought of you the other day when I cleaned my cabinet and found my extra sword! LOL...

I had no idea you hurt yourself! I hope you get back into the swing of things soon.

Ahhh! I went to see my teacher and her troupe a couple of weeks ago, and she made me get up and dance with them a little, which was awesome. They did a couple sword routines, and I was jealous!

I think I definitely had to take the summer off. I had to take a second job because my housemate moved out abruptly, so I ran out of time and money, and then an old trail running ankle injury flared up. I think this break is meant to be. I've reworked a design for my coin belt, though, and go nutty with my zills every very so often, so I'm not totally in non-dance oblivion! Haha! :D
