HELP! ))))

OK, so yesterday I paid a visit to my neighborhood Thrift Store. And look what I found!

My question is: recently I really got into making my own clothing and I feel it is kinda shame to use some of these treasures here and some there. So may be, somebody could share with me a link to the project with LOTS of buttons (cloths preferably, but toys are OK too, I already thought about bracelets and necklaces). I do not need instructions (it would be nice) just pictures. I think I can dye them with coffee, tea, fabric dyes.

Thank you!

I know of several people in the Society for Creative Anachronism (a medieval reenactment group), that use a lot of buttons like the ones you have in their costumes. Something like: http://caerleon.freeservers.com/images/bluejacket.jpg

I found one dress that uses buttons as decoration in a mostly effective way. I think the cloth buttons you have would work even better.

Here's the link: http://shop.shoplawrence.net/product/shell-button-dress

Also, button down dresses have the potential to use a TON of buttons, especially if it's long.

I love the dress! Thank you!
I am kinda hesitating to make so many tiny buttonholes, as the button down dress would require )))).

Find your local steampunkers, victorian style clothing is ideal for lots of fiddly buttons and loops, thats where it came from :)

It looks like someone was going to make a wedding dress with all those buttons.

I think, (judging by the amount) the box belonged to somebody who was making wedding dresses for business.

I hope you get lots of helpful links, but can I just say I'm so interested in WHO previously owned these! How cool that these neat things crossed YOUR path. :-)

Good luck!

I was once in a wedding where our bridesmaids' dresses had a line of these buttons from the very top all the way to the bottom on the back of the dress. They were just decorative and didn't require any actual button holes. I wish I could find a picture. Regardless, it was quite pretty! That could be a more formal option. :)
