Wired Family Tree

Hi Everyone
I've finally completed the wired family tree for my sister in laws birthday.  It didn't take as long as I had expected so it's complete 2 months prior to her 40th birthday.
Here is a pic.

I only added 2 pics and am leaving the open spots for her to fill in of her favorite family pics.

I painted and stencilled the fame myself.  I also used a heavy gift wrap paper for the gold leaves as tin and gold leaf was extremely expensive here!!

All in all I think it came out pretty decsent.  I hope she will like it.  I am considering paint the back piece gold and writing in black paint a little something like, Live, Laugh, Love or something family oriented with a date.  Not sure yet but I have time to consider it.  Her bday isn't until March 15!

Let me know what you think.

also a very special thank you to all of you who gave me the websites and help from one of my previous entries.

That turned out really well. I don't think I would paint the back gold, though. I think it would detract from the leaves and the 'tree' Maybe the phrase you come up with in gold instead? Just a thought. Either way, that looks very cute. Now I want to make one!

***nods*** I like the way the black sets off the gold the way it is now.

Thanks so much! It was alot easier then I thought. The only thing that gave me troubles was the site I needed the template from wasn't working anymore. I just took a picture of another one I saw on the net, to staples and had them enlarge it to the frame size and used that as a template. I scouted around the thrift stores and found a wooden frame that was only $3 and made it my own. The back is foamboard from the dollar store and also the wire is from the dollar store which is 28 gauge. Dollarama is a great place to find crafty materials for the budget minded crafter.

Thanks so much for the encouragement! This was my first time doing anything like this and I welcome the feedback.
I didn't explain the gold back thing clear enough, my mistake. I wanted to paint the back of the frame(the back that faces the wall when hung) gold and add a personal message that the general public couldn't see and the date. Sorry that was my fault not explaining it throroughly.
