Cheap gift for a mother that's impossible to buy for.

So my mom's bday is just round the corner and I've been racking my brain, thinking of something to give her, because she's IMPOSSIBLE to buy for (funny thing: she says the exact same thing about me).

As I was walking down the street I went to this newspaper stand to buy cigs for my bf and a loto ticket and I saw this really pretty wrapping paper:

I bought one sheet for €0.50.

Then I went and bought 2 notebooks, 1 notepad, 3 pencils and 1 rubber for €3.50.
office2

And a pad of drawing paper, red construction paper, white glue, superglue and a roll of elastic band for €4 (the old black tank top I had lying around, so that cost me nothing).
office3

€8 and a few hours later I have a set of fancy office supplies. ^__^
office4

The big notebook:

The smaller notebook, with a pouch to put documents.

The notepad.
office9 office10

The bookmarks.
office11 office12

The pencils and rubber.

Hopefully she'll like it.

That's a very, very good idea, I should make a note for my endless list of people impossible-to-buy-for (being an eternal student, it also suits my budget =P). Mrs Hudson would approve!

That is a very creative idea, and I'm sure your mother will love it all the more because you made it with such thoughtfulness and care. I'm a wee bit jealous!

Oh, that's a great idea! I may have to try something like this in the future for a couple of writer friends I have.

i think something like this would make a lovely gift for my local NaNoWriMo municipal liaison (and for a couple of special writing friends as well).

Awesome! I have a ton of wrapping paper (I use it in papercrafts all the time) and now I'm gonna use the ones I've fallen out of love with a bit to jazz up all my stationery :D
