I sewed up some French lavender sachets and tucked them into a matching gift bag this morning.

I transferred images onto pure cotton using the CitraSolv method explained here.

Mother 001

I found and downloaded a pretty free font, printed a tag, and cut it out with fancy edged scissors. This cost nothing to do as I had everything on hand. My mother gets a cheap gift that was thrown together at the last minute because I am a bad daughter.

Your mother gets a really pretty gift, because you are a clearly amazingly crafty daughter! I love the idea (and the pictures you chose) and would love to try something like that, but have no idea whether we have something similar to CitraSolv here in Germany. (We don't have CitraSolv because I checked for that.)

I have no idea if this would work, but looking at the ingredient list, I would bet that the main ingredient in this would be the D-Limonene. You might look for a solvent or degreaser with that as it's main ingredient and try it. It would likely either be found with 'natural' cleaning products or in the automotive department (yes, I'm serious).

Hopefully someone else who has done something like this can give you a recommendation that they have used, but if all else fails...

I have researched this a little bit, and what you're looking for is a product that contains Xylene. Hardware stores should sell it and you're right, it's a solvent. You should use this product in a well ventilated area, and I'm guessing your fabric is going to stink so you'll have to wash it.

Another way to transfer images is to use freezer paper, also called butcher paper in some countries (like mine). I found a tutorial here which should easy to follow.

Thank you a lot for that great tip! I will definitely try that method.

I'll look out for that thank you very much!
